Chloe is home now. Her little tummy is shaved, and she's lying next to the heater keeping warm, and she's not wanting to be petted much or fussed over, understandable with the day she's had.
Cut for more medical stuff
They extracted fluid from her abdomen, and the vet had a look at and saw a lot of sticky white cells that are present with a certain kind of lymphoma, which is managable with daily doses of prednisone(cortisone). They're sending it to a lab for more detailed study,(for $100.00) so it will be a few days before we know the results of that. I don't know how it is with cats, but i know that long term use of cortisone drugs is in itself very debilitating for humans. So, "managable" - does that mean she has a few months, a year or two, what? I know at some point it's going to clearly be unmanagable and we'll have to euthanize her, but i'm just going to love her and see that she's as happy as she can be for as long as it's feasible. I'm up for it! I've got my head in the right place for it now. it was just hard at first, because it just felt too soon, after losing my old kitty.
